9.2.5 updates

Further Updates have come to the PTR as the final patch of the expansion takes shape.

  • Blood Elves and Dark Iron Dwarves getting quest content for a mount and some transmog items
  • Enigma Arena being added to the arena pool
  • Warlocks pvp talent change
    • Demonic Embrace now increasing stamina by 20% in pvp
    • Demon Armor (pvp talent) removed
    • Affliction
      • New pvp talent: Shadowfall – Gain the Nightfall Talent with +100% chance for shadowbolt to be instant. If this talent is selected, pick another in the same row.
  • Mythic + for season 4 is still a ways away from being in a testable state
    • Data mined affix name: Reclaimed

Dragonflight Leaks?

Over on MMO-Champion, some intrepid individuals found some source code changes on the official World of Warcraft website. 

Strings were detected for a Dragonflight expansion pre-purchase in Base, Heroic and Epic.

Warcraft Radio Interviews Morgan Day

Athalus from WCR sat down with Morgan Day and asked a few questions about this latest RWF and lessons learned by the team to glean more info about the design philosophy going forward for Team 2.

  • Tier sets are good, they have heard the feedback loud and clear, they’re staying
  • Tier set acquisition conversations internally are about how they can keep it from feeling bad
    • Morgan talked about the question of “does my class feel complete without this bonus”
    • They made the change to tier set tradeability to keep people from having to do ridiculous things to get it, but ended up just making another hoop to jump through, so will be reassessing.
  • They want the vault to feel like it’s a reason to play week to week and that you’re always excited to open it
  • They want to continue to decrease barriers for people to be able to play with their friends, starting with tearing down the faction divide.

Live Updates

Several QoL improvements added to the game.

  • Vestige of the Devourers added to Enlightened Quartermaster
    • Optional reagent added to a Rank 1 legendary that boost it to rank 5 (ilvl 249)

Class tuning from March 29th and coming in April 5th

  • Death Knight
    • Unholy
      • All damage increased by 5%.
  • Druid
    • Feral
      • All damage increased by 3%.
      • Primal Wrath damage increased by 10%.
      • Brutal Slash damage increased by 20%.
      • Swipe damage increased by 15%.
      • Thrash damage increased by 20%.
    • Guardian
      • (4) Set Bonus: Architect’s Aligner damage and healing reduced by 35%.
      • (4) Set Bonus: Architect’s Aligner damage and healing reduced by 25% in PvP combat (was 50%)
  • Hunter
    • Beast Mastery
      • Beast Cleave now deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets (was 5).
      • All damage increased by 3%.
  • Mage
    • Fire
    • (2) Set Bonus: Increases the duration of Combustion by 4 sec, up from 2 sec.🔺
    • Fireball damage increased by 20%🔺.
    • Fire Blast damage increased by 10%.🔺
    • Pyroblast damage increased by 6%.🔺
  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • Spinning Crane Kick damage increased by 30%.
    • Windwalker
      • Rising Sun Kick damage increased by 10%.
      • This change does not apply to PvP combat.
      • Blackout Kick damage increased by 10%.
      • Tiger Palm damage increased by 10%.
      • Fist of the White Tiger damage increased by 10%.
  • Paladin
    • Retribution
      • (2) Set Bonus: When you benefit from Art of War, you gain Seraphim for 4 sec, up from 3 sec
      • Divine Storm damage increased by 10%.🔺
      • Wake of Ashes damage increased by 10%.🔺
  • Holy
    • Holy Ward’s (PvP Talent) cooldown increased to 45 seconds (was 30 seconds) and duration decreased to 15 seconds (was 30 seconds).
    • (4) Set Bonus: Divine Conversation’s effectiveness reduced by 40% in PvP combat.
  • Rogue
    • Assassination
      • Fan of Knives damage increased by 30%.
    • Outlaw
      • Blade Flurry now strikes nearby enemies for 50% of normal damage (was 40%).
  • Shaman
    • Elemental
      • All damage increased by 5%.
  • Warlock
    • Demonology
      • Demonic Consumption’s now causes your Demon Commander to drain 12% of the life from your other demons (was 15%).
    • Destruction
      • All damage increased by 5%.
  • Warrior
    • Ignore Pain now ignores 55% of the damage (was 50%).
    • Protection
      • Demoralizing Shout now reduces the damage enemies deal to you by 25% (was 20%).
      • Ignore Pain now reduces the cost of Ignore Pain to 35 Rage (was 40 Rage).
      • Spell Reflection cooldown reduced to 20 seconds (was 25 seconds).
      • Vanguard reduces all damage taken by 15% (was 10%).
